Tube-style walking map linking 300+ public artworks in and around central London
Discover London’s outdoor art
Have you ever walked around London and wondered about an art piece on a street corner or a mural on a wall? The outdoor art scene in London is rapidly evolving, shifting from traditional sculptures to experimental installations, colourful public works, and ever-changing street art. The city is becoming increasingly vibrant, serving as a vast canvas for contemporary sculptors, visual artists, and street artists.
The London Artground Map links together more than 300 public art pieces in and around the central London area across 15 themed lines. Explore artworks along the Thames, discover contemporary installations at The Line, or visit the vibrant street art scene in Shoreditch and Brick Lane. The Park Line connects public artworks with a more traditional feel in leafy west London, while both the City and Canary Wharf are hotspots for contemporary sculpture. Venture further out, and street art dominates the scene in Camden, Brixton, and Penge.
This map is a tribute to the public artworks on streets and in parks that we sometimes take for granted—or don’t notice at all. I hope it inspires you to step outside and rediscover your surroundings with fresh eyes.
